Live Bait Photo Shoot
Posted on August 31, 2007
PhotographyLive Bait, a new, eclectically designed restaurant, located at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Al., opened in late July this year. No expense was spared in the look and feel of this restaurant. It feels as though it belongs somewhere other than Orange Beach. Maybe Atlanta or some other large city. It has an amazing view of the canal, great bar, and a neat sushi room that unfortunately can only accommodate 8 people.
I scheduled a photo shoot with a Pensacola based photographer by the name of Thomas Birdwell to shoot at Live Bait last week. He specializes in food and architectural photography which made him the perfect photographer for the job. He produced some amazing photography and was reasonably priced for a half day shoot. The picture shown is a shot I took of the sushi bar. To check out Thomas Birdwell’s photography go to photography.birdwell.us or wait to see his work throughout the pages of several Compass publications.
A side note:
On the whole, The Wharf is still only 65% occupied giving it an odd mix of busy pockets nestled in a construction ghost town. I suppose these are the residual signs of a hurricane ravaged area or over anticipated tourism traffic. Either way it has potential.
